Your Heritage
As part of the Gwynfi Heritage project, we aim to establish a digital archive to be housed in the new Heritage Centre at Gwynfi Miners Community Hall. The archive will feature a dedicated workstation which local residents and visitors alike can use to browse our Heritage Trails, and database of photographs, aural and written accounts submitted by current and former residents of the village
- Do you have digital copies of family photographs or images of the village that you would like to send and contribute to the archive?
- Would you like to visit the Miners Hall to scan and create digital copies of your photographs?
- Would you like to record video or audio footage of your recollections of village life, the colliery, or any stories about notable local characters now sadly no longer with us, who deserve to be remembered
- What was life like when the colliery was open? How does it differ now?
- What was the village like during the war years / during rationing?
- Did you take a trip through the Rhondda Tunnel, or ever walk the Tunnel or line?
This is your opportunity to tell YOUR story and those of your families, and have those memories preserved at the Gwynfi Heritage Centre here in Gwynfi Miners Community Hall
