Croeso | Welcome to Gwynfi Heritage Trails

Supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Gwynfi Heritage Trails is a new initiative of Gwynfi Miners Community Hall, aimed at preserving and promoting the long and rich heritage of the twin villages and communities of Aber | Blaengwynfi

Once a leading industrial hub, located in the heart of the South Wales coalfields, Aber | Blaengwynfi is situated at the top of the picturesque Upper Afan Valley, and boasts some of the most picturesque views and mountain walks in the whole of Wales

Gwynfi Heritage Trails is dedicated to exploring and preserving both past and present images of the villages and their communities, and to storing and sharing aural & visual memories of local residents at the new Gwynfi Heritage Centre at Gwynfi Miners Community Hall

Our site also guides visitors to the region through a series of newly created Heritage Trails, built around the history of the villages, and the central themes of The Blue Scar Trail, Gwynfi Industrial Trail, Gwynfi Nature Trail and Gwynfi Community Trail

All these trails, and more, can be explored via the links below
